Who I Am
I worked in bridge and highway construction for thirty-eight years in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, mostly as a small-crew foreman.Through trial and error, I learned that the crews I supervised would only succeed if I ensured that each crew member had a personal investment in the outcome. After completing that career, I returned to college and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Communications Studies. Since I had already, by trial and error, internalized healthy communication principles, I easily earned an A in each of the nine Communications and Speech classes I undertook.
My strong drive to meet the strict deadlines typical of the Construction industry forced me to correct my mistakes and learn principles that build effective teams. I like to say that smart people learn from their own mistakes, but really smart people learn from others' mistakes. If I select you as a client, you can learn from my mistakes; be assured, I've made some big ones!
